A Week of Turning 3

This little sweet pea ...
Turned 3 on Tuesday.

My parents and Kruz came and stayed the night with us to celebrate.  We ate delicious food, and shopped till we dropped.  Corb, Port, and Kruz played to their little hearts content. Matt wtas busy taking his last final but made it home in time to eat cake.  Corbin and Kruz had a movie party with Papa.   They watched Lion King and ate popcorn.

Then Thursday Grandma Karen came to visit.  She brought Corb a gift, and we went to dinner at Cafe Rio....YUM!  After dinner we went to the Festival of Lights.  We go every year, and this year did not disappoint.

Then yesterday we drove up to SLC to see Grandma Karen and Annie.  Matt and I went to dinner (we have not gone out just the two of us in a long ol' time.)  And the kids stayed with Annie and Karen.  Corbin got another gift from Annie.  They went and walked around downtown and got some dessert.

I  have a 3 year old! MADNESS!  It seems like every year goes faster than the one before.  Some things about my sweet 3 year old.....

He LOVES to help me cook.  He pulls up a chair and climbs up the second I walk into the kitchen.

He is a smidge OCD...I mean for real.  Toys have to go in a specific place.  His hats have to be hung on his bedpost every night before bed.  His day has to be somewhat predictable.  Everything has a place and order. Right down to brushing his teeth at night.  He has to get the toothpaste and toothbrush out.  Then he takes the lid off the toothbrush and toothpaste.  He brushes for about ten seconds, then it is "my turn."  Then I brush his teeth, then his tongue.  Then he pulls his stool over to the sink, "spits."  Then wipes his face off and puts things away.  If anything is out of order or place we have problems.

He can't  handle it if he has dirty hands or shirt.  We go through about 3-4  outfits a day.  Not kidding.

The first thing he says to Matt when he walks through the door after school is "hey dad, how was your day?"

Every morning he tells me he dreamed about Jesus.

He keeps reminding us that when he turns five he gets to go to school like dad :)

The kid can eat!  About an hour after each meal he asks "mom, whats for lunch?"

I just love this little boy!  I love how kind and compassionate he can be.  I love his "fake" laugh, and how he will bust up laughing in the middle of a tantrum if you smile at him.  I love his willingness to help teach Porter.  I love that he is such a sweet boy and that he is a part of our family!  Happy Birthday Corb!
